Maintaining the rights of way network requires quite a lot of effort from lots of people!
Wiltshire Council has a small team of people who progress issues logged through the MyWilts app, as well as doing regular maintenance work. You can find out more about their work in this short video.
Parish Councils also help to keep the routes clear. Voluntary groups, such as the Bedwyn Footpaths Group, also organise working parties to address issues and also to make improvements, such as replacing stiles with gates or replacing signage.
Landowners also play their part in keeping the routes accessible – particularly through crop fields during the summer months and ploughed fields at other times.
If you come across an issue on a public right of way, then please log it through the MyWilts app so that the problem can be sorted.
